Capitalism or Free Enterprise, part 1 of 2

When did we lose track? When did we suddenly decide one day that we are sheep, not people, and let those in charge blatantly lie to us? At what point did those in charge decide to start lying to us? I know I've addressed this issue before, but I have a couple more tidbits of "interesting," ideas to help this concern along... for you see, the United States Government has been misleading the people for quite some time. Through Capitalism, America has become a nation of greed and power. Through Capitalism, good people have been hurt. And, while many members of the media talk about America's right to be a 'Capitalist,' society, what they are really trying to refer to (I hope), is free enterprise. But, there's a huge distinction between a Capitalism and free enterprise, and it begins with the corruption of entire nations. Let's begin with an old, "conspiracy," that is not quite such a "conspiracy," as some people might believe:

Flouride. What's that you say? What does Flouride have to do with anything in politics and scandals? Well, I'll let you read the article for yourself. In fact, I encourage you to not just follow the links I've posted, but do your own research - at home or in a library. The sum total explanation is this: Flouride is a toxic waste product, that many scientific studies and EPA standards have validated is poisonous. In fact, one of the EPA reports I've linked to, confirms the facts I am presenting to you now. So, why is it in water? The aluminum industry is huge. In fact, it's so huge, that it has been a major, economic driving force since the post World War II era, when, for many years, the toxic dumping of toxic waste byproducts from aluminum manufacturing were legally deposited in landfills. However, around the mid-70's or so, based on the poisons found in the bloodstreams of millions, the EPA began to set landfill standards - including the refusal of dumping toxic chemicals in oceans, lakes, streams and landfills. Flouride was then a problem that one of the largest textile industries in the world had to deal with. And, thank goodness to Capitalism and money, they were able to buy their way into the water streams of every household and mouth of every person in this country and dispose of it through human ingestion.

Now, let's look at the FCC, television and commercials. You spend time watching your television, enjoying your shows about beautiful people in perfect bodies, with great teeth, a full head of hair and nice, thin waist-lines. This is quickly and FREQUENTLY interrupted by a series of commercials that do what? They tell you how IMPERFECT and UGLY you really are. They point out your bad teeth and the toothpaste you need, the Rogaine or hair coloring products you need for your head, the diet pills and excercise machines for your fat, the face creams and anti-aging products for your skin, and so on and so on. In other words, Hollywood, much like the American Dental Association (ADA), was offered a big, fat check for LYING to you. Hollywood tells you who's ugly, and who's not. Hollywood tells you what's popular and acceptable, and what's not. This marketing strategy is amongst the most corrupt and vile forms of subliminal messaging that is possible, today. Trust me, if you go to take advertising and marketing in college for four or five years, you'll get to see first hand how they mold you into working for the Capitalist markets. But, given these two examples, what has this got to do with Capitalism?

Mind you, I could have chosen from a myriad of tens of thousands of examples. However, I specifically chose two areas of our common, every-day life that we tend to take for granted. I did this, because you need understand, that Government "lies," are not limited to what takes place in "Congress." Forget Congress. The laws they have already passed, the agencies already in place and the people supporting Congress are the biggest threat to our lives. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) - an agency set up by our Government and paid for through tax-payer dollars to regulate the safety of the environment and us, has passed regulations to dump toxic waste into the drinking water and do so under the guise: it's good for you! Remember the advertisements for cigarettes long, long ago? If you have a sore throat - smoke! It REALLY works! In fact, the cigarettes you smoke work so well that they'll numb your throat through the systematic destruction of the cells, providing you long-term relief. Hey, what about the ADA? It is a government established agency designed to regulate the administration of dental services, and along with the FDA, toothpastes, mouthwashes, etc. Go look at your tube of toothpaste right now. No - really, I'll wait. Go get it and come back........ (musical interlude)........... got it? Okay - now read the back: Warning: Harmful or fatal if swallowed - contact the poison control center immediately! [Sure - yours will be a variant of this - but you get the gist]. TOOTHPASTE WILL KILL YOU? Yes. Why? Flouride (amongst one or two other chemicals also contained in some toothpastes). But, that's not really the big one - the big one is a chemical whose initials are SLS. This is an industrial grade, silicon scrubbing agent that is abrasive and designed NOT to remove the plaque from your teeth, but the enamel. Don't believe me? Go ahead - you look this one up.

The point? The point is: The government is lying. And, when the government lies, WE THE PEOPLE SUFFER. I've been saying this for a while, but wanted to point out a couple small parts of your life here: the toothpaste you HAVE to buy to whiten your teeth so you can look like the perfect man or woman from your favorite, unrealistic reality show, is filled with none other than: Toxic waste and chemicals designed to make you need the services of a dentist. Capitalism people. Capitalism is NOT free enterprise. If you'd take a moment, there is a very well written article on Capitalism that was done in 2006, before the Obama era, that clearly outlines some of the major points of Capitalism. An overtly philisophical article was written in 1996 and detailed the failure of these two processes as functional together. The truth, which you will rarely find in many on-line articles and texts out there is this: Capitalism, by its sheer nature and definition, is a political structure that when, the leaders of an economy influence the decisions of a government - it becomes Capitalism. In the case of Democracy, Capitalism is the tip of an iceberg which will eventually sink the Titanic. Capitalism not only represents a minority few, but it represents those who want money. Its selfish greed is self-destructive and will inevitably destroy itself in sheer, Marxist Socialism style when arrogance marches headfirst into the arms of destruction.

Capitalism or Free Enterprise, part 2

While there are many angles of Capitalism to discuss, for the purposes of America and this article, I'll focus on Capitalism and Democracy.

Examples of Capitalism in Democracy:

Laws that are passed that do not include the voters, the interest of the voters or the interest of the welfare of the majority. Let's take for example the laws that were lifted from pharmaceuticals permitting them to advertise on television, and within a few years, the price of prescriptions 800% and people who needed prescriptions to survive, died. What about laws that permit the poisoning of our drinking water and the sale of toothpaste to children that contains poisonous chemicals like Titanium Dioxide? What about laws that govern the prices of our food, our oil, what we can and cannot buy, and so on? The truth is - I could detail some very disturbing facts for you about how our entire political structure has been commanded for many, many years now by Capitalist leaders (ie. DuPont - the leaders in Titanium Dioxide production), whose sole goal is money. But, if you don't already know this - by the computer you sit in front of, the number of televisions in your home, the cars in your garage, the size and mortgage of your home, the name brand on the clothes you wear, the cartoon/commercially driven to purchase toys in your child's room and the slew of other, obvious facts all around you- then I'm afraid you are the one I spoke of when I first wrote this article and asked: when did we trade being people - for being sheep?

This is just not wolves in sheep’s clothing. At least the wolves eat the sheep for the reasons of survival. This would be the equivalent of the shepard selling out his own sheep and leading them to the wolves in trade for a pocket of gold and all the wool he could want, shear free! This is NOT free enterprise.

So, what is free enterprise? Free enterprise is exactly what it says: a competition market where anyone can compete against one another. This is what creates good pricing – not the government giving sole rights for ISBN licensing to Bowker, LLC., so they can charge people whatever they want and control the market. Free enterprise allows people to build a better mouse trap and offer it on an open market, not create 3 credit bureaus with all their flaws and corruption to dictate the terms of an individual’s life. In an article by Robert J. Samuelson with the Washington Post, he attributes Capitalism’s ability to survive to its diversity and America as a whole. However, I would counter this and say that he is in fact, incorrect. Capitalism has not thrived based on a system of diversity. Anyone who invests at the upper echelons of the stock market knows this – because they know that companies such as Viacom, DuPont and others, are the parent/umbrella corporations for a vast array of companies below them, and in fact, there is little diversity in our current economy. Additionally, I would support this with the every-growing siege on America by Capitalism:

If Capitalism could thrive based solely upon its diversity – then why pay off government agencies (who have a dictatorial authority over the people through the enforcement of laws vs. the threat of prison and death) - to pass laws that permit the poisoning of our water? Why develop a nation of TV-brained imbeciles who don’t recognize the harm of constantly being told how bad they are, and then buy the anti-depressant from the next commercial to get their “pill fix?” Or, perhaps this is the Diversity that Mr. Samuelson refers to – even if he doesn’t realize it. Perhaps Mr. Samuelson’s references to “entrepreneurial culture,” and “work ethic,” as Capitalism’s building blocks are truly the masquerade upon which it keeps its victims as easy targets. No – there is NO free enterprise. Free enterprise is gone. I cannot go put up a stand on a corner in the middle of town, or outside my house, and sell my vegetables.

Why not? Taxation, regulation, ordinances, fees, licensing, permits, applications, limitations, infringements upon minority groups, and a slew of other nonsensical laws that the Federal Government – a body that was designed to represent the people and defend this country – had no business passing. If this were a free enterprise, I could build a car tomorrow and sell it. You say – sure you can – go ahead. You say, just fill out the forms, pay the fees, apply for the licenses, pay for your own advertising – and you’re good to go.

Really? Are you sure about that? What about the competitive clauses that I alone may not face as a small guy – but if I were to try and build, say 10 million cars – that would forbid me that right? Need a better example? Try looking up what Walmart has not only done to small business, but the added regulations Walmart has helped “encourage” in towns across America, in Federal and State Legislation, that kill those small businesses. In fact, many of those same laws have eventually come back to bite Walmart, hard, until it exerts itself upon our political leaders and forces through laws for its own special interest and success. Again – when government crosses over into free enterprise - it is no longer free. Greece had the perfect example:

Along the row of shops in the city, anyone could bring their wares, set up shop and sell them. End of story. Nothing else to tell. Now-a-days, if you try to set up shop, you get sued or some law is passed that forbids you to go into business. It would be like me contacting Toshiba, ordering 20 million computers and laptops, and setting up an on-line company to sell those laptops direct to consumers. Now we have a lawsuit issue with Dell, buyout options and government regulations galore. Sure – I suppose you can still argue that it is free enterprise – but as Samuelson said in his article: entrepreneurial culture. And, that is what Free enterprise is. So Capitalism stands upon the shoulders of that standard. Its foundation is the abuse of free enterprise and the systematic destruction of competition through political control. Else, why would Capitalism even need a hand in the political arena?

However, when the media and many others discuss the infringement on Capitalism by the Government’s march toward socialism, they are missing the mark entirely. Capitalism is the point in which free enterprise gives way to Socialism when it gets a boost from the politicians of the day who suddenly pass laws defending companies like Amtrak, because they are also invested in that company and have to protect their own interests. In the book: Corruption, Capitalism and Democracy, from Routledge Taylor and Francis Group, they discuss how the collusion between elitist politicians and elitist financially wealthy “capitalists,” (those who believe that the economy should dictate the laws – or He who has the gold “makes” the rules), are furthering the expansion of capitalist practive and market practice at the expense of democratic practice and public values.

So: Capitalism = free enterprise taking political control of the masses for its own, selfish gain; and in Democracy = the end of freedom. Thus, Capitalism = The end of freedom. But, you’re free, aren’t you? You can decide not to watch their shows, buy their “stuff,” and be independent, can’t you? HAHAHA – go ahead and try. The rules the government puts into place requires you to subscribe to the whims of Capitalism to keep it thriving. However, the greed on top never gets enough, the elitists get too fat, and the people just get poorer until there’s no more to give. This leads to rebellion and war (The Boston Tea Party for anyone interested in an example). Welcome to Free America. You’re free to shop and spend – and they’ll tell you to – a lot. It will be all around you; your iron will shall be shattered. Your beliefs shall be made frail upon your social condition. Your fear and hatred of your fellow man shall be made manifest by the infringement not upon your person – but your “stuff,” and how much it will cost you (or in a lawsuit – how much you’ll gain).

But, what do you take with you from all of this?

Either you’re at home now, or you’ll be going home soon. And, you’ll need gas to drive your car. You’ll believe that you need 10 cops to every 1 person just to keep you safe on your journey. You’ll buy the food at the store that they make available, poisons or not. You’ll trust the FDA, the EPA, the ADA, the AMA and any other board that’s “government,” backed, because the government is SO honest – but regardless – you have to eat.

So when was it? When did we stray off the path? When was the point of no return? I ask these questions, because if you can discover the point that we were fooled by the Shepard, you’ll be able to see how and where the wolves got in. You’ll be able to be prepared for what’s coming. After all, with the entire Country up in arms over this president, a nation on the verge of frailty and fear, and a capitalist community just waiting for the opportunity to pounce, there’s no reason to fear, is there? It’s not like the fall of the government or the march to socialism will be replaced by Capitalists, is it? It’s not like the media is dishonest at all, is it? Or maybe – just maybe – if they know we can see them coming, the capitalists will lose their supporters – the sold out and self-righteous manufacturers that produce products that harm us. And, when we cut out our tax support, when the authorities no longer have a job in such great numbers, they won’t be as apt to stand up to us. When we turn off the television, they’ll lose their support.

I guess only time can tell if free enterprise shall rise from the ashes ever again. Until then, now you know, when you hear the word: Capitalism, what they really mean. Good Luck!

(by the way - when I reference a link - that does not mean I endorse it in whole or in part, but have found at least a portion of it to be useful - just fyi)

Why Democracy Inherently Fails

Sorry to say this - but Democracy has an inherent flaw within it which is doomed to failure if not held in the absolute perfection of brotherly love and human kindness:

population growth

Think about this: ten people vote tomorrow that they should have to get rid of foods high in salt. Six people vote yes, four - no. The result? Four people are going to not only lose the food they like, but they're going to have a nasty habit to kick.

Now - 300 milliion people are asked to vote on whether or not they should get rid of foods high in salt. 151 million people vote yes, 149 million people - no.

McDonald's is bankrupt!

HAHA - okay - silliness aside, the truth is: when you have a group of 10 people, most likely, they won't need to absolutely vote on things, because they can find ways to get along. When your numbers begin to reach 100 or more -- you may need some voting. However, when your numbers reach 300 million - Democracy, which is to support the majority - puts out 149 million people. Sure, 151 million's the majority. But, putting out 149 million people is a SIGNIFICANTLY bad thing. In fact, it WILL result in problems. Now..

Enter into the equation: capitalism and special interest groups. Now we can vote in laws that bankrupt people, screw the majority, and suddenly you see a big sign ahead of you: Welcome to America. *sigh* But I digress...

The Representative Democracy, which we have now, does NOT function. When we remove the people's vote - their power and their voice - and place it in the hands of the powerful - we SCREW OURSELVES. Case in point:

Recent news story: to save $400,000, some cities are turning off their night-time street lights. Hmm? Wonder why those lights are there in the first place, right? Maybe.. just maybe... security? Well, now people are in fear. Are they going to offer to turn the streetlights back on? Nope - they'll offer to hire more law enforcement. Will that stop the problem? Nope. But, when the politicians hire a $60k per year cop and charge you $80k - and pocket $20 - you'll keep quiet, or not only will you have the night-time dangers to deal with, the law enforcement will be on your tail. Think I'm wrong?

Ever been pulled over, or nervous, because your License Registration for your CAR is about to expire or is expired? Let's say, you register once with the DMV. They have you in a database. There you stay. But now, you have to PAY, every year to stay in that database. Why? Because - they want money. So, they create a law that says you'll pay them every year to do NOTHING, or else you get fined, maybe thrown in jail and possibly lose your car. By NOT registering after that first time, are you hurting anyone? Are you endangering anyone? Are you harrassing anyone or causing ANYONE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD ANY problems? Nope. But, now, because YOU'RE NOT PAYING the DMV to KEEP WORKING, simply because they want you to, the cops can stop you and harrass you.

What else could the city do to save some expenses? I don't know - maybe they can quit building frivolous GARBAGE! Maybe they can take a paycut in their overhead? Maybe they could shut the lights off in the town hall at midnight? MAYBE they could condense the city police force (since there's already sheriff's and State police running around the city), and save some BIG bucks!? But, representative Democracy not only does NOT represent the majority - it represents the beliefs and power of that ONE person.

Not convinced?

Well then - final PROOF. There's a health care bill out there that ALL of America does not support - and yet Congress is still considering it. Why? They don't NEED us. They don't represent us. The people's vote does not count anymore. What do they say instead? They believe Obama's still in favor with the people because a recent "poll," shows 57% of the people in favor of him. Really? What 57%? you mean the 1,000 outrageously liberal, Democrats interviewed at Berkely University? I'm sorry - REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY does NOT MEAN, that 1/1 millionth of the PEOPLE represent the WHOLE! That's BACKWARDS and STUPID!

And so children, we close today with these simple words: After a Nation reaches a certain size, if you still have a Democracy, and those who are in charge are accustomed to ignoring the voices of HUNDREDS of millions of people, don't be surprised, when it takes on its final stage of evolution: Dictatorship.

Thanks!!

An Empire revisited - freedom lost

Quite some time back I discussed America as an up and coming Empire - An Empire being:

1. The region over which Imperial Dominion is exercised,
2. A group of countries under a single authority (which, Great Britain, and America, both qualify as),
3. A monarchy with an Emperor as the head of state,
4. conglomerate, a group of diverse companies under common ownership and run as a singular entity

An Imperial Dominion - a supreme ruler over all nations. Look at what America is - is it a Republic? Well, a Republic is a conglomerate, but the people have influence over the government through some form of Democracy or similar political structure. I'm not really sure that America completely qualifies as a republic any longer, given the limitations on freedom, passing of laws without representation and misrepresentation in the passing of certain laws which place dominion and control on the people. Of course, as we are on the path to a Marxist Socialist way of life, the definition of an Empire becomes more clear for America. Actions in our economy such as "the New Deal," by Roosevelt, most certainly took us away from being a Republic and began instituting solid foundations in Imperial Dominion.

As I discussed in my last article, "The New Deal '2'," the investment of the government into overpricing is most certainly tearing our economy apart as it's replaying the events that helped lead up to the great depression. A loaf of bread that was $2 is now $100, and box cars that were $75,000, are now $2,000,000; and the government won't back those items at those inflated prices, or else the currency, it's "I.O.U.'s," would devalue the gold that backs it. If you read about what happened with Freddie Mae and Freddie Mac, GSE's that bought overpriced Mortgages/home loans (that the people couldn't repay, driving home prices through the roof), and how AIG created insurance policies to back these overinflated mortgages, you begin to see more and more of how the government, with a power/rule that far exceeds a standard "Republic," committed an act which helped contribute to the dramatic economic difficulty we're in now. The problem is, AIG is holding onto insurance policies that the government won't back. Amtrak's holding onto boxcars that the government won't back. But, because of their being in bed together, because of GSE's and special interest and Wall Street, the government creates bail outs and stimulus packages that do what? Bail out the government - NOT the people. Is that a Republic? Is that representing the interests of the people? Does that even INVOLVE the people, or were the people just pawns in this big, game? It's GSE's... bailing out GSE's, and in the process, gaining MORE control of those companies, such as AIG (as they already had Amtrak), and suddenly, the definition of an Empire as a conglomerate, run as a single business, begins to be made even MORE clear.

Roosevelt's "New Deal," and all of the sham government controls over things like "social security, housing and civil works," would crash if the government crashes. They are inflated as it is now, and as economists have warned, will become hyperinflated. The government won't back them. That's why, when you heard that AIG had to be saved to protect companies and GM had to be saved to protect jobs - it did NOTHING. the same jobs were all still lost. The same bonuses were all still given. The bailouts and the stimulus have nothing to do with protecting the people - only the GSE's - the government - and its special interests. If jobs are saved along the way, then great - but that's only a "secondary," to the main goal of government covering their own actions. See, if AIG failed, the banks would need to collect on the debts. Who do they go to? The same GSE's that purchased the overinflated mortgages in the first place ... Uncle Same (through Freddie Mae and Mac). But, Uncle Sam can't back the bank's demands without devaluing the gold. If the dollar's worth 10 pieces of gold instead of 1 - think about what that would mean to the rest of the world and their wanting to collect... we'd be in a world of hurt.

This has been seen in history where an Empire overspends. Julius Caesar was spending left and right, building his armies, catering to the poor (through entertainment, not actually "solving," their problems...) to make them "believe" he was cool, then turning on them. His power was becoming absolute and he was ruining the country. He had to be stopped. Hitler originally invested in a lot of programs that supported a lot of jobs, until he began internalizing his power to become an Emperor. He began spending on government only projects - increasing his military's strength, specialized weapons projects, funding internal government sources to be his personal regime to maintain absolute authority, and this got him in trouble with his fellow leaders and the people. Jobs declined, but the government got wealthier. He had to be stopped. The British Empire had stretched its arms out to the world and spent a lot of money to do it. In fact, in all its spending, it sold itself short. It soon began to lose hold of its colonies. In America, where the King of England was lavishing his own with monies, it created dissention and chaos, even with their neighbors, France. The point is - everywhere overspending has been an issue, the value of the economy and currency declined, nothing good came of it. This includes the Great Depression and America. The government helped march us there, and rather than march back out, they somehow convinced us to let them keep going.

Are we a Democracy? That's a question you have to answer for yourself. Are we free? I certainly hope you don't think that getting to print a few words on the internet is freedom- because I can assure you - even though another is typing these words for me, both they and I do so in fear of retribution from our government. Have you control in voting on how YOUR tax dollars are spent? A republic would. Do you have control in what laws are passed? A republic would. Do you have control of who's in the primaries for you to vote on in an election, or who gets to be president without the electoral college's special interference OR who the next supreme court justice would be? A democracy... would. This isn't even a representative democracy. People were angry about the AIG spending, but would the government take the hit for what they did and represent the people? Nope. They said, "Bad AIG, no more really, really big, personal bonuses for you - only little ones." Is that... representing what you wanted?

Your stimulus monies have gone mostly to law enforcement for the streets and justice for the courts and special interest for the government, while the jails and schools suffer. Is that what you voted on? I mean, after all, you know that when there's no money left, you'll have to join in on the rioting to get bread to feed your family, so it's good there's more law enforcement to stop you, right? Hmm....

Are you even getting a say so in the legalization of marijuana? HAHAHAHAHA - I don't care to comment on what I think about it - but we're talking about a very OLD and very SENSITIVE issue - and you get NO voice. Especially, if you're NOT for it, and it gets passed - did your 'elected official,' do what you elected them to do (or vice versa)?

A republic, this is not. Not anymore.

A capitalist country, this is not, not under the conglomeration of private business to government say so and control.

A democracy, this is not. Not with the voice of the people fading into the wind.

So, what are you left with? Do the math people. Not too many choices out there. There's socialism, and marxist socialism. There's communism, monarchy's and dictatorships. There's aristocracies (which America has been for a long time now) and fascism (which also defines America's political structure perfectly).

Sure - there are a few other choices. But, once you've passed by a republic and a democracy, and capitalism has declined - so has freedom. So, whatever your equation ends up with - freedom is not going to be a part of it anymore.

It's all about the control...

More hypocrisy and communistic totalitarianism from the Pacific Northwest...

Oregon state to join in the ban on the sale of novelty lighters.

Why? According to the city of sandy's fire marshall, "kid's brains aren't equipped to understand their curiosity with fire and the inherent danger in playing with lighters or matches." (Paraphrased in part). In other words- because kids can start fires with them (don't worry- the government's not including matches, gasoline or regular lighters because obviously THOSE can't be used to start fires, too... Right? Wait a second...)

In reply to this, others have argued that it is the responsibility of parents, not the government, to control what their kids' do. However, the fire marshall explained that the item that kills more kids per year than guns should not be made to look like a toy (irregardless of the toy grenades and semi-automatic police gear that looks real...). The fire marshall went on to explain that the ban will be intended to protect children whose parents are irresponsible...

Sounds fair in the bigger scheme of things, I suppose. Protect children from parents who don't bother to teach them about fire safety and just let them wildly run around starting fires.

But, why novelty lighters? If the kids' aren't taught the difference between right and wrong, it doesn't matter if it's a matchbook, a regular lighter or a lighter that looks like a car- they're going to play with it. But, did the novelty lighter makers design them with the intent to harm children? Obviously - no. Just some person with an entrepeneural spirit figured out a way to sell a .99 cent lighter for $4 bucks- and good for them!

When- not if - this law passes, the entrepeneurs will pay the price. The stores that already show the responsibility to only sell lighters to adults-will pay the price. Adults who purchase novelty lighters or collect them (as the fire marshall admitted to doing herself), will pay the price. But, that's not even the bad part.

You see, the parents who are responsible and teach their kids that because something looks fun, doesn't mean it is, will pay the price. Why? Water looks fun, doesn't it? Are we going to ban lakes and rivers? Several people, every year, die in the local lakes and rivers, ignoring the laws and not being skilled enough to swim!

What about driving? Cars look cool, don't they? but, do parents 'let' their children drive their cars before they are trained? For the most part, 99% don't. But, where do we draw the line between curiosity and accident? Where do we draw the line between neglect and sneakiness? Worse- when mom and dad are no longer the authority figures, how do children's fragile minds distinguish between following what their parents say and just doing whatever they want, believing the government has removed all of the obstacles?

Do we want our children hurt, I say, no! But a lego is a toy, and I have to teach my child not to swallow it. The plug outlet on the wall 'looks' like a toy to the mind of a child and I have to teach them not to touch it.

Is it a problem that the government can tell us, as adults, what WE get to enjoy and not enjoy? I'm sorry- no more drinking glasses with cute sayings because you're too irresponsible to teach your kids it's meaning!! Where does it end (because, now we know where it begins)? Did making toy guns look less real stop kids from liking them or using real guns? Maybe statistics say 'yes,' but I'm not a big believer in so-called 'statistics'.

When do we, as parents, stop worrying about our children's well being because uncle sam has us covered? Do we, as parents, have a right to raise our children the way we see fit (within obvious, appropriate boundaries)? Our we Constitutionally protected to be secure in our homes and families?

When do we have a right to tell the government, 'no,'? You see, this is the problem with our government- no representation. Either congress does as they please, or minority groups with the monetary backing fight to make themselves look important, not caring about the consequences of their actions.

But, hey, half the people on Obama's staff aren't being held accountable for breaking the law, so why should anyone in congress have to be? Our tax monies are going wherever the gvt. Chooses without our say-so, so why should they represent us anywhere else?

There it is, folks. The exemplification of Democracy's failure in America. The breakdown of moral standards and ethics. I wonder when the first court hearing will take place for the person who shows the gall to buy a novelty lighter... Or maybe decorates their own? I wonder when the laws will be expanded by the next minority group to ban bar-b-ques because they present a danger?

Remember, it's NOT about protecting our kids. We, as parents, work hard to protect our kids everyday, including protection from corrupted gvt officials and law enforcement. It's about the systematic decline of your individual rights, the long-term harm to your families and the effects on your children.

For those of you who still support this move, maybe you'd like to also encourage the minority group that tried to ban the pledge of allegiance from schools? Or, maybe you're glad that the boy scouts of America were punished for firing a scout leader who wanted to teach children about gay sex. Think they're different issues? Think again, because-

It's about control. Pure, totalitarian authority that otherwise ONLY existed under monarchies, communist regimes and the like. Heck, maybe tomorrow instead of oregon just banning 'books' from school (which they do, including American classics nationally accepted elsewhere), we can burn them, too? At least we'll have a use for all those left-over, novelty lighters....

*sigh* land of the free... Home, of the brave?

It costs $11 million dollars to keep YOU safe from Domestic Crimes

How many of you have gone to check this out? How many accept everything you're told on the television and radio? About... 95% of you? Makes sense.. after all... that's how we GOT into this bind in the first place. But, on that topic, I'll digress and focus on the main one - what eats our American budget? Is it the expensive dresses that Michelle Obama buys or the airline trips that the President takes to travel around the country (ps.. costs $1 mil for Airforce One to fly - and every time the President goes up - TWO A-One's go up to provide deception to terrorsts.. so it's more like.. $2 million)? While we can look to the huge expenses of our governors, senators, congresspeople, Presidents, military, general and others (which amounts to a LOT), we should consider, on a local scale, what is eating our budget.

Law enforcement. No - first off - I am NOT opposed to law enforcment. In fact, except for the bad guys in there that need to be given the boot because they shoot innocent, unarmed kids, go after ghosts, and violate the law (those of you that wonder about whom I speak, read ANY local newspaper.. ANY ONE... from ANYWHERE in the Country... for the past year and a half... and, you'll get the idea), I support my local law enforcement agency and try to learn what REAL issues are on the table so that I can vote educated! Unfortunately, the truth is - they ARE eating up the budget because of a gestapo-mentality that the government has taken to put fear into the people. But, let's examine this in terms of financial figures, not conspiracy - so you can see for yourself:

In a small town like mine (75,000 people), the budget for City police is around $6 million per year (this is only those who are 'officers', and does not include forensics, staff, equipment, supplies, administration, etc.). So, for a city of 10 million, it would be around $800 million (assuming $80 per person), per year. Well, doesn't 'sound' like a lot, right? While it's difficult to get 'actual' numbers on the total of 'cities' in America, the low number would be around 20,000. But, let's make it easier. The population in America is around 305 million. So, the total cost of CITY police is around $24 billion (just so you know - this number is in the trillions, but I'll digress on that info for now). Still, not a lot, right? Let's look at the counties... which are sheriffs, including parole and probation ($4m), on-duty sheriffs + prison guards ($18m), juvenile justice ($8m), and around ($5m) for the DA's and courts to prosecute ALL those bad guys, which include about 3141 counties in the US, that comes to $110 billion. Now, on the State level, there is $1.4 trillion for department of corrections (this includes prisons/jails), about $65 million in department of justice (that's the bare minimum for salaries.. not other expenses, remember),  (we won't count the $30 million in military salaries... because we like a national guard who's not there to watch over us like big brother, but be there when we NEED them), $298 million in youth authority, $4 million for parole and probation, State Police of about $220 million, and all for a grand total of around $100 trillion for all 50 states.

NOW REMEMBER, I've used Oregon's population and financial numbers for all of the above - and our population is LOW - so these numbers are MUCH, MUCH higher...

At the city level: $24 billion dollars
At the county level: $110 billion dollars
At the State level: $2 trillion dollars
And.. at the federal level: 30 trillion (that's a low-ball number as I've cut out a lot of the garbage...)

Our TOTAL, bare minimum numbers for law enforcement, for $300 million people -32.13 TRILLION dollars.

That is $107 THOUSAND dollars, PER PERSON (man, woman, child, toddler AND infant), to POLICE the US DOMESTICALLY.

What DOESN'T this account for:
All of the equipment, administrative, overhead, airport security, border patrol, federal tribal costs and many, many others (cause, if it did, it would be in the HUNDREDS OF TRILLIONS). That DOESN'T include the cost of maintaining prisoners in jails or prison (which is OVER $12 TRILLION DOLLARS)!!!

Would you be SO suprised, to find out, that when ALL is said and done, that it costs the WORKING ADULTS in America (around 180 million BEFORE this economic crisis), $178 THOUSAND dollars in taxes to maintain law enforcement, prosecuting attorneys, judges, courtrooms, jails, prisons and monitored probation (oh... this DOESN'T include training and forensics, DHS, CPS, and other such ... 'outside' factors) PER YEAR - PER PERSON?

$178 THOUSAND per person!!! C'mon... thank GOD we have rich people.. because if we DIDN'T.. the ENTIRE economic and public safety infrastructure of this country would COLLAPSE. Mind you - we have NOT included the military, national guard or SPECIALTY anti-terrorist organizations. To protect YOU ALONE- the average American - from DOMESTIC CRIMES - costs $178 THOUSAND!!

Are you worth that... every year? Are you worth $178 thousand dollars in protection? If you live for the average of 65 years, not considering that this number goes up EVERY YEAR, you're going to have cost well over $11 MILLION dollars just to protect from all the bad guys.

And yet.. crime keeps happening! Jails keep filling up! Repeat offenders get to go free! Why? Why do you cost $178 thousand dollars out of the less than poverty level scale income I make, to protect? Where does the money come from? Does that mean, in this economy, if the rich people are going bankrupt and everyone with wealth leaves, that suddenly, you're ALL going to die, because there's no more money to fund the $178 THOUSAND dollars of protection YEARLY? What about this tax money the President is giving out to BIG BUSINESS, that's just pocketing it and running? They're NOT paying taxes on that?? How do you think this economic crisis is going to turn out if we keep giving out money, more and more people are unemployed and it costs $178 THOUSAND dollars to keep YOU safe from domestic crimes?

Why does Congress keep passing laws like 'gas' placing more and more control on the people? Doesn't that mean we'll need MORE law enforcement? YES - YES it DOES! And, in fact, a lot of this 'incentive' money is going to 'refurbish', government buildings, that INCLUDES prisons and law enforcement. Why? Because - as people are going bankrupt and broke and a depression hits, they'll be hungry. They may try to steal to feed their families. We need MORE police to stop them!! Left and right, all around the country, law enforcement officials are calling for more and more 'volunteers'; aka. 'citizen' police. Do we NEED that? I'm not saying law enforcement is bad. What I'm saying is - we're not JUST being ridiculous anymore - we're being OUTRAGEOUSLY INSANE? Think that you're not already being punished, huh? Think that you're innocent of everything and so, the law is only protecting you? You're WRONG. You ARE being punished. You are ALL on monitored release and are considered guilty. Just READ some of the TRUTH going on behind the scenes. Watch the news and listen to people being condemned WITHOUT proof! Read the TRUTH for yourself. The websites are easy enough to find. The Constitution is no longer being adhered to in law or in courtrooms. The freedoms are no longer available to you! This is a police nation - MORE SO than ANY other country.

Stipulations of your release are as follows:
If you drive, it will be at the given speed limit, with a seat belt, and in some states With insurance but Without a cell phone. No talking for YOU!
If you work, you Will pay your taxes, in full, but if the IRS/State screws up and loses your paperwork or doesn't enter it - YOU are responsible, not them.
If you wish to breath clean air, you WILL give to the tax funds for 'clean' energy.
If you wish to eat food, you Will do it in restaurants where you DON'T smoke.
If you are too heavy, you WILL lose weight or you'll be dropped from your insurance without any rights or compensation.
You will NOT go out at night without accepting that an officer of the law can follow you at any time, anywhere, for any reason.
You will NOT speak negatively against law enforcement or you are interfering with the law.
You will NOT speak freely as this is against other people's rights.
You will NOT peaceably assemble without law enforcement to govern you.
You will NOT go out with friends to drink and then drive home, it doesn't matter if you're safe or not.
You will NOT go to a movie if the rating is too much for you.
You will NOT walk your dog off a leash in the park or he will be impounded and you will be fined.

So, some of these laws, not so bad. Don't drink and drive. But - you WILL be monitored, because the authorities will sit outside the bar and watch for whomever tries to get into the car after they've gone out for ONE drink with a friend. And the smoking, well, for some, not so bad - for those who now wish to frequent bars with their children since truthfully, only their children were actually susceptible to lung cancer for it, can watch mommy and dad get sloshed WITHOUT the threat of lung cancer. The rest.. and the MILLIONS of laws that follow, from state to state, to the federal government, are YOUR probation. You are guilty. That's why the police can sit at the site of the road tracking you for speed, follow in unmarked cars and do stings. If you weren't guilty and on release, they'd have no right to do this. The government can now tell you when and how to work your heater/air conditioner, now has control of what you watch on television through digital cable (a WHOLE different argument entirely...), and they can monitor you everywhere you go. You can't cross state borders or travel in airplanes or even enter into government buildings without being questioned and/or searched - because.. YOU'RE GUILTY. If you were presumed innocent, well, how would these folks be protecting you? If they weren't watching us, 24/7, with unlimited access to our medical, work, and private records, how could we be safe? What do you think the 3 credit bureaus and checksafe are about? If it wasn't for those agencies, the entire country wouldn't be in such a financial bind. Banks could set their expectations higher for lending, but wouldn't have any scales to monitor/judge you. Do you know what the CLUE system is? If not - you may want to look into it. Do you know that there are dozens of government monitored, controlled databases watching you right now, that all the companies you interact with have been reporting to? No - no conspiracies. Just George Orwell in its most basic form.

We have MORE law enforcement than ANY other country - alone AND per capita.
We have MORE people in jail and prison than ANY other country - alone AND per capita.
We have MORE court trials than ANY other country - alone AND per capita.

Folks, I'll let you read the other articles I've posted with even more concerns and fear in this matter. IF every vote, regarding EVERY law that could punish you in ANY way, guilty OR innocent, were voted on, this wouldn't be an issue. The majority of laws in place now would NOT exist because people, long ago would have said - "hey - that's STUPID or UNJUST or AGAINST my Constitutional rights!" We have just as much corruption (including random beatings, illegal search and seizures, shooting of innocent/unarmed people, bribery, etc.) in law enforcment, prosecution, judicial and congress as we did before. In fact.. we have MORE! And, it's NOT directly related to the increase in law enforcement - even on a per capita basis - we have MORE! When students demonstrate - the police are called in. When the President came to my backwoods little town, the police were called in under the 'false' presumption that there was an angry mob, and those who were peacefully picketing were beaten and maced (and it included his supporters oddly enough.. you know.. get em all to get a few) and driven back so he could be here. YOU didn't hear that story. Those of us who stood up to say something were kicked down and now find ourselves being silenced through the corruption of the authorities and what they've done to our lives! I knew LONG before you all voted this man into presidency, what he would do with law enforcement.. and how BIG law enforcement in this country is and how much in danger we are.

I just also know that nobody reads these posts or cares, so I don't worry about finally getting to tell the truth. I was Jo the plumber LONG before he was. And, I am NOT alone.

Well - if you can't see this - after all I've shown you, then you are indeed, in for stormy seas. There's only ONE reason that ANY government has this level of law enforcement. There's only ONE reason that ANY government sends its citizens to prison under a 'belief' of guilt instead of 'proof', there's only ONE reason that ANY government negates its Constitution, there's only ONE reason that ANY government allows their prosecutors and judges to send innocent people to prison without being held accountable, and there's only ONE reason, that a country cuts schools, floods the market with so-called 'free money' and spends HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS of it on increasing and improving law enforcement (yes.. for those of you that haven't looked yet - your local, state, county and federal law enforcement agencies will be HUGELY benefitted from this); and if you don't know what that reason is - then you'll soon find out.

Good luck all, peace and love to you my brothers and sisters.

YOUR responsibility to talk radio

Let me be the first to say that I salute individuals like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingram, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh for having the guts to stand up and say what needs to be said. I absolutely oppose the "fairness doctrine," because it is another step, since the 60's, for the existing government to convert this country into an Empire. However, we MUST be careful when listening to these radio talk shows, because quite often, they get an idea in their head, drown out the truth and run with it. Or, they abuse potentially important topics that the people of this country NEED to hear in order to obtain ratings. In order to illustrate my point, I'll start with one of the more infamous folks (since Rush is already recieving enough media from the extremely confused liberals), Sean Hannity.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzX6tkLmgAM&feature=related

For those that take the time to view the above video, you will have already heard the attack on ex-governor, Jesse Ventura, for his book speaking out against the American government, warning the people of its lies, deception and our eventual fall into facism. Let me give you a couple of quick definitions on facism:

  • a political theory advocating an authoritarian hierarchical government (as opposed to democracy or liberalism)
  • A political regime based on strong centralized government, suppressing through violence any criticism or opposition of the regime, and exalting ...

I'm not sure what that says to you, but what it says to me, are principals that are NOT, inherently, democratic or republic. It is not a system whereby the people's vote counts or the people are included in the incorporation of laws and principals such as the Patriot Act, when abused on American soil by law enforcement, act as the foundation of a Marxist Socialism. Yet, for those of you that took the time to watch the ENTIRE video - and didn't read the streaming media below the individuals speaking - watch it again. What is the main news? The main news is about the invasion of the FLDS church by law enforcement officials, barging in to an open, unlocked Church, with semi-automatic weapons and bashing in the doors of the office building, taking records, taking children and putting them through hell. There are videos of the law enforcement admitting to acting without a search warrant and acting in contrast to the rights guaranteed through the Fourth Amendment. (Let's not forget the 400+ children... FOUR HUNDRED... that had to be returned by DHS because of their blatant disregard for the truth, facts, liberty or JUSTICE)!!

Now - watch the video. Hmm, is Sean Hannity ATTACKING Jesse Ventura for trying to warn the people that we are on the road to Fascism? [And, in my personal opinion - this is the type of comic/tragedy scene which could otherwise only be written of by Shakespeare himself....] Of course... this is probably isolated.. right?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,128045,00.html
Well, it seems to me that many, many radio DJ's have enjoyed attacking people who question the authority of this government. But wait, what's wrong with that? Well... let's talk about the so-called, "fairness doctrine," in which the radio DJ's, now that it's their hides on the line, are suddenly attacking the government saying that they government’s abusing its powers to control the people. I
sn't it funny how somebody will talk in absolute ignorance of a subject until the chickens come home to roost.

And, now what? Should we just "listen to them" and "trust them?"

http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/4096/ - read what this man has to say - a LOT of it is excellent and is of importance to us, as a people, but be aware, there are always truths within truths.

While I hold Glenn Beck in great esteem for his willingness to REALLY listen to both sides of the issues, he throws around the word "socialism" against the current President, as much as he fought against it during a Republican regime. It's not that Glenn Back stated that he was okay with some of the government's decisions, but he doesn't discuss the fact that "distributed wealth," has EXISTED since the civil war when war vets were supported by the government, and that welfare has been a form of distributed wealth EVER since. There is, of course, a significant difference with what Mr. Obama is trying to do, but I think those distinctions MUST be made in order to clarify these issues for the people, or they will confuse things like "socialism" with "marxist socialism" and "marxist socialism" with "distribution of wealth."

This list of talk show hosts goes on. And, as I've stated in my earlier article on their ignorance of the global climate crisis, they forget the powerful influence they have on people and their real responsibility. You see folks, this is similar to what happened in Nazi Germany. The government after WWI was composed of England, France and several others that marched into Germany, and spent a LONG time persecuting their people, RAPING their women and CHILDREN, murdering the parents in front of their children and vice versa, decimating their economy and severely abusing the people. The "local" government (primarily Jewish) was given control and even they, to an extent, held the German people in a certain amount of control to keep everything 'calm'. (BTW - if you don't know this story - it's because it WASN'T in your textbooks - because the Government we are now speaking about - America - lied - sorry - look it up for yourself). When Hitler tried to speak out against the oppressive control and abuse of his people, his family was hurt and he was thrown in prison for being a troublemaker -

And he broke.

The National Socialist German Worker's Party, began by appealing to a middle class of oppressed people, blaming their trouble on the communists, the Jews (their inherent government), their so-called 'allies,' and the Versailles Treaty. Of course, the Versailles treaty and their so-called 'allies' WERE responsible for what was happening to them. The Jewish government WAS telling them to be quiet and take the abuse, and of course - EVERYONE blames communism. So - what's the parallel?

Our Radio Talk show hosts are now throwing around the word, "Socialism," like candy, [appearing to be] with clueless about its REAL definition. In fact, the "socialism," that they are talking about is "Marxist" socialism - the same principles that were held by Stalin and Hitler both. Marxist was a Darwinian who redefined the meaning of socialism to fit his concept that the people were too weak to survive and so "big brother" had to help. This is much like Hitler throwing around the word "communism" without too much understanding of its definition. And, of course, the government propogands that they are right while the individual parties, like the Socialist workers and the DJ's (not equating the two - let's not be ignorant - Hitler was a tyrant who NEEDED to die (and a patsy to those using him), while DJ's are just that - DJ's with opinions in a country where they have the right to express them... for now... I'm just pointing out parallels), throw out arguments that they are right and the government is lying. What happens?

People are torn. Of course, this is where Hitler was able to create his 25 point doctrine and lead people in the direction he did. It's almost the same fragile point that America is in, where one person will say the key words that people want to hear, and they will fight for a cause. What to think about this? Well - that's the point - YOU NEED to think for YOURSELF. Sure, listen to what they have to say. There are ALWAYS three sides to every story. But, to give you an idea:

ALL the right-wing talk show hosts are attacking the 'global warming' folks. The government is trying to support a renewable energy package that may or may not help to mitigate this issue, but in the end, it is falling under attack for that same reason. And, what's the argument of the talk show hosts: "Maybe these 'global warming' folks need to look outside their window at the snow and rain and how cold it is!" I won't go into the argument presented in an earlier post on this site, but the fact is, when they take a position, without the truth or knowledge about what's REALLY going on behind the scenes, they can talk about issues in a way that's DANGEROUS to the American public. People ignore a growing concern that "could" come back to hurt them (notice I said could - the point being - DON'T dismiss the issue - just keep everything in perspective until you've heard it all).

Sounds like Sean Hannity making fun of Jesse Ventura for saying the government's being oppressive one year, and then the next year crying to the people for "their support" because the government's trying to "oppress" him. Maybe - if he had the facts that Ventura did - Maybe, if he HAD LISTENED and addressed issues on a fair platform, he might actually be worth his weight in salt. Without that, he's NOT reporting the news. Is Ventura right? I don't know - I'm NOT there... but I will listen, without mocking, and I will pay attention to the world around me and consider everything going on - not live in a comfy little box. Will I stop listening to Hannity? Of course not - the usual songs on the radio suck and I'm too lazy to change the channel and I like background noise. Of course, I'll hear what he and other hosts have to say, but occassionally, knowing the truths that THEY DON'T - and seeing how they react when they find themselves at gunpoint - I'll continue to enjoy them as news sources with opinions that STILL need to be followed up on and checked on... in orde to THINK FOR MYSELF. Of course, I won't give the liberal media news reporters who also blatantly stick their feet in their mouths any greater attention either. And, what's sad, is that lines will be drawn. The people are feeling the oppression being placed upon them financially, and they are NOT thinking for themselves. They are feeling the fear of a Gestapo-style law enforcement. The people they trust to tell them the truth are occassionally speaking without full consideration of the truth. And, we are all at that vital stage that split Germany - part into the NAZI part, the other part into submission and fear. This is NOT about the talk show hosts - this is about YOU - the people!

So - be careful what your radio talk show hosts tell you. They are telling you ONLY what they believe. They are telling it to you from their perspective. They are NOT "giving it to you straight," "bringing you the news you need to hear," "telling you the truth that the liberals won't." They are telling you what they feel is true and right. Sure, when they say the President lied and there ARE earmarks in his bill, that's the truth and yes, the President lied. But, listen to folks like Dennis Miller who has changed his mind more times than Bill Clinton changes female "assistants" and is more wishy-washy than the current administration. He was against Obama during the election, then for him, then against and for, and then for him when Obama was President, and now against him with this new budget. Is Dennis wrong? Nope. Dennis is not wrong. Is Dennis making any sense? To a certain degree, at each flip-flop, he is. What does it all mean? It means - he goes with the flow - whatever is popular. He's in the business to make money - not ramble because he's bored (like me) - the same as the rest of them are. And a salesman is, was and always will be - a salesman. Sometimes, they are just telling you what you want to hear, when you want to hear it - and sometimes - the truth is quite different.

And now - they attack Bush - the ones who supported him. They mock the man they helped to get elected. And, worst of all - you KNOW they don't go back and watch their shows, because if they did - they'd see what I pointed out to you in that first link.

Of course - it IS talk radio, and on talk radio - in-between their broadcasts, are the radio announcements for the Federal Department of Justice trying to get everyone to sign up to the National Registry, giving all their information to the government to help control for them. But, have any of you noticed that ad? Did you even hear it? Can you even begin to understand the devastating and dangerous implications that holds for the future of what is supposed to be a "free" country? If not - the reason is simple: the people you're listening to and trusting to tell you the "truth of the matter," are only telling you what is good for the moment, and you are so confused about the future, that it's too difficult to look ahead and see what's coming.

And, this is what I'll leave you with: Folks - I am the least educated, the least informed, the least worthy and the least respected amongst you. I am not a scientist, a teacher, a doctor or any such "admired" individual. I am not in the government, nor do I have "special" contacts. And, there are many points that I believe that I know - there is more than a 50% chance, I am wrong about. But, I'll tell you this, I only say these things because I worry that too many of you have stopped "learning," and are only "hearing." This is one thing I WILL say right now - Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Laura Ingram, ALL have my attention. And, at least 95% of the time, I am in absolute agreement with what they say - but that includes my going and looking it up. These folks have a right to their opinion - and you know what? If their opinion was so far off - people WOULDN'T listen to them! I'm GLAD they are here. I'm glad there is one last post - one last stand to be made. I just fear that when people forget it's OUR responsibility to be educated, OUR responsibility to get the facts, OUR responsibility to be RESPONSIBLE, that it positions these talk show hosts, without their having done anything to deserve it, in the dangerous position of having their opinions or thoughts taken too seriously at ALL times. Be aware, these people are just that - PEOPLE. We have NO RIGHT to demand their perfection. They are not Gods. We can only ask them to be as honest and as equal on all issues as possible (which is why I especially enjoy Glenn Beck's show).

So, I say - Go - GO listen to them. Hear every word. Read every statement. Take in EVERYTHING they say. Then... educate yourself. Confirm the facts. GET to know the issues. You should NOT be reading my work WITHOUT questioning it - or you're in for just as much trouble. I AM HUMAN... I will make mistakes... and I will say my opinion even sometimes, when I think it's wrong. But I expect YOU to be responsible.. for YOU. That's all!

Strange Bedfellows: Capitalism and Democracy

There is a false belief that Capitalism begets Democracy. This belief is based on the principals that growing nations (currently, what we see as Asian, third world countries such as singapore, and even larger countries such as russia), will create a 'middle class,' whereby the class system will demand greater freedoms and rights leading to a Democracy. While this may appear, at face value to hold some validity, in practice, it is not a reasonable belief. Democracy has never been based on a class system. The foundations of Democracy rely entirely on a representation of the masses, from rich to poor. Democratic decisions which favor one class over the other, or garnish the votes of one class over the other, do not represent the principals of Democracy.

Take for instance, the recent law (in Oregon), where insurance companies were no longer to be allowed the right to use credit reports to offer some people discounts, and would have to stop discriminating against others. Had this been a Democracy, the bill would have passed unquestioned because that meant a fair system of cost for each person, and qualifications for increases to insurance would be based on a historical basis, putting all people into the same, level, playing field. That is equality and fairness in its purest example. Instead, it was voted down by a majority of voters. These voters were discovered to be the wealthier class. In fact, commercials were broadcast prior to the election that spouted lies, supported by the wealthier individuals of this State claiming that it put an unfair burden on the wealthy to share the overall burdens of insurance costs. What was not stated, was that their discounts, rely upon the poor to pick up the slack and be burdened with the costs that the wealthy don't have to pay. One politician sought to endorse Democracy and make this a level playing field, while private enterprise commanded the results of the election. Looking to third world countries such as Singapore and India, an other countries we mustn't forget several facts:

That the funding of additional education for their youth has come from American, tax-payer dollars, and it is we, not they, who have sacrificed the education of our own children to send 100's of millions of dollars to students overseas to fund their education.
  1. It is contracts made with American Companies that undercut the American payroll to offer a far, lower rate to the overseas people (such as call center help for Dell, or loan callback agents with First Union Bank); whereby the companies offering overseas jobs qualify as the grant winners of monies that come from tax-payer dollars.
  2. Other countries such as England and France which exist in a capitalist-type economy don't have a Democracy, but operate under Kings, Queens and a parliamental system.
Others make excuses for capitalism, such as the following excerpt:

Capitalism is the only moral political system because it is the only system dedicated to the protection of rights, which is a requirement for human survival and flourishing. This is the only proper role of a government. Capitalism should be defended vigorously on a moral basis, not an economic or utilitarian basis.

This definition goes only so far in varying, economic conditions. One example is that it works up until the point that taxation leads to the prevention of ownerships of property such as taxation creates a, 'rental,' situation in which property can be taken by the government should one fail to pay their taxes; and morality is sacrificed. I refer to this article by Andrew P, written for EnergyGrid, in which Democracy is placed in its proper context:

It is very easy to assume, because every few years we vote for our choice of government, that we live in a Democracy. After all, the definition of Democracy is a form of society in which the supreme power is vested collectively in the people, and this is primarily exercised by free choice of government. But, although the form of our society still seems democratic, and although we still go through all the same democratic rituals, there is a very worrying trend of power migrating from the people to big business. Democracy is eroding as our leaders, more concerned about controlling society and pleasing their paymasters - the corporations - turn their backs on the interests of ordinary people. (read the rest here)

The main component of Capitalism that challenges Democracy is: Wealth. Capitalism is the system whereby each and every person may work toward the goal of bettering themselves financially for the purpose of moving up in social and financial status. The underlying, human mechanism that poisons this growth is known as greed. Wealth is not obtained through the fabrication of resources from thin air, but from the work done by one class to support another class. And, as the scales tip downward for the rich, they tip upward for the poor. Democracy is born not from Capitalism creating a middle class that demands their fair share, but perhaps it is better stated to be a by-product of Capitalism due to a greater separation of socio-economic classes in which enough of the poor, demanding fair representation, must be heard due to overwhelming numbers. Democracy is not born from an economy, but war. However, in their purest forms, one cannot exist with the other. Capitalism which can be governed by greed, exist as a socialist standard or a bartering system without a government, cannot support a standard of equal rights for all individuals.

In the beginning of the USA, maybe it appears as if Democracy's roots were embedded in the principals of a trade/barter system. However, do not forget that it was greed and selfishness that brought us to this country, took the land away from its native inhabitants, and then relied on slavery and endentured servitude to lay the foundation for American economics. Democracy is doomed to fail in the presence of Capitalism. This happens when the private corporations of America mold the lawmaking process and when the Government no longer represents the masses or protects their interests, but creates punishments that lead to the wealth of the Government. For example, the seat belt law: This law does not affect anyone else. A person is not a better or worse driver or a greater or lesser risk to others because they do or do not wear, a seatbelt (the argument, everytime against those who disagree with me - is busses; especially, schoolbusses). The law is nothing more than the Government abusing its power to increase income. Yes, I know the argument that it is far more expensive for the taxpayers when a person is hurt without a seatbelt and more resources have to be spent transporting that person. What I don't buy in that story, is why 16 cop cars arrived for one person hitting another, one ambulence, two tow trucks, and 10 of the 16 officers standing around and doing nothing for the entirety of the accident. Money is wasted and it is a Capitalist-type law. When the government makes laws that support the 3 credit reporting bureaus and checksystems as methods to control an individual's life (their job, ability to have shelter, food, transportation and many, other factors); and leave it in the hands of private enterprise, thereby endorsing that we [the people of America], are to answer to private corporations who thrive on their lust for wealth, then the money makes the rules - and America Government is now acting, Capitalist.

It is a growing concern, nationwide, that our Government is moving farther and farther away from the people. That their political campaigns are skewed and poorly done, that it's become obvious that they are merely for show, to hide the truth behind them. No true Democracy can survive, for those who seek wealth, seek power. They know that power will further endorse their wealth. Thus, those who have gotten into positions of political power in this country are either corrupted, or will be soon.... The two opposites do not make for very good bedfellows.
