So, you've heard the news, the hype and the reactions... Bernard Madoff, an elderly man, has plead guilty to 11 counts of investment fraud that supposedly began in the 90's during a 'recession' time then. Of course, Madoff, a 70-year old man, is expected to spend the rest of his life in prison (although I'll digress on how stupid this is - you can read my other posts on the 'budget'). And, the money? Well... it's just GONE! Yup - BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars: *poof* up in smoke. Could Madoff have lessened his sentence, or perhaps gotten out of jail altogether? Sure could; all he had to do was lead them to the dough. What about accomplices? There's no way this man did all of this alone.
And, that's the interesting part.
For those of you who have already considered this, I commend you. For those of you who are about to be in for a shock (if anyone ever acually read any of these... hahahahaha), I have already warned you about the danger of TV brain - and this should be proof enough - for you. Madoff is taking a tremendous hit. He's too old to live super long in prison, has a family he loves dearly and may also never get to see them again. There's no 'bargaining' chip to get out of prison. In fact, had he 'shown them the money,' two major problems exist:
1. The government would have pocketed it all. End of story. Then, they would have gone after more. Of course, the responsible thing for our Government to do (the key word being: responsible, as in, something that Uncle Sam WON'T do), would have been to set up Bernie Madoff as the executor to a specialty fund, with all of that money in it, so he could respond to everyone who had lost their earnings and write out checks until everyone was paid back. That way, there would have been restitution for those who lost, and Madoff would have been the one to pay that restitution and be left with nothing. Harsh, but a LOT more sensible than US SPENDING money on him to sit in prison. Unfortunately, that's NOT why he's being quiet....
2. The second problem - and here it is, the 'conspiracy theory' for those of you who are argumentative - Bernie Madoff is a fall guy. He WAS NOT in this alone. At his level, his fraud involves top level, corporate executives, politicians and the like. C'mon - after this last "stimulus" spending that put BILLIONS into the pockets of corporate executives rather than fund operations - which was a DIRECT VIOLATION/ACT OF FRAUD by the individuals, was overlooked by our Government and shoved to the background by putting the attention on MORE stimulus spending. So, why is Madoff a fall guy? I'll tell you:
The man loves his family. He has children and grandchildren. I don't know if he has great grandchildren or not, but in this economy, with a government gung-ho on convincing the people there's a 'crisis' and gaining their support for law enforcement to go out there and start arresting everyone, all of the people involved with Madoff are scared. And, scared people resort to some pretty unscrupulous tactics. Sure, the FBI could offer Madoff immunity, but not his family (that's governmental 'logistics' for you). If your entire family - your brothers, sisters, daughters, sons, great grandchildren - INNOCENT - children, were in danger, what would you do? "You're on, I'm deeply sorry for what I did......." and accept a life rotting in prison. What's the scenario? Oddly enough - television - finally has its day! Just like in the movies, these guys walk into Madoff's office, toss down photographs of his family in front of him, maybe even visit his great granddaughter (or whomever... not totally familiar with his family.. sorry), his friends, somebody, and they let him talk to them through a telephone where he says, "If you hurt a hair on their head...." And, they respond, "You're in no position to bargain. You wanna see them alive, you just do as you're told...." And, on the other end of the phone we hear, "Grandpa, is that you, grandpa?" And, finally, Mr. Madoff says, "Fine, I'll do it, anything you say."
And, what happens at the FBI? "Mr. Madoff, just tell us who else is involved. Where's the money? We know you didn't and couldn't spend it all... just tell us, and we'll do our best to protect your family. Do they have them now? Are they in danger?" But, what if he answers? Police sirens that can be heard for DOZENS of blocks come blaring down the street, and the guys in the black clothes with the hoods on, take the tied up family members, put a gun to their head and the last words they hear are, "I guess gramps didn't love you enough to save your life... too worried about himself."
And the shot is fired.
What? You don't think that happened? Or... you don't think that COULD have happened? What if it were you?
A) You stole billions and you WANT to pay restitution, would you keep the money hidden and go to jail? How is THAT, restitution?
B) You stole billions and you WANT to keep the money, but are going to jail for the rest of your life and are hoping to secretly bribe your way out? Why didn't you leave the country and go into hiding in ADVANCE of all this?
Look at ALL the possible scenarios - shut down that DAMNABLE television, and read between the lines. Folks, it doesn't talk a person with even HALF a brain to figure this out. I've looked into Mr. Madoff's eyes, and although this sounds strange to many of you - I can assure you with my heart and soul - that man did not plead guilty because he was. He plead guilty to protect someone. He is covering up. No good reason to take a fall for the others who profitted... after all... if that were the case... he should have expected them to come to his aide OR take them down too (unfortunately, it's an unscrupulous world). Nope - that's NOT what happened. Mr. Madoff is hiding the money (most of which, is probably BACK in the hands of his partners except the amounts he has kept hidden for his family), hiding his partners and preventing the FBI from having a paper trail. And, now, it's all over the news for 2 reasons:
1. The FBI WANTS his partners to see this because they know, as long as he's on his way to prison, there's still a chance he'll break... and they want to scare the others into coming forward... especially his family (that's sort of how law enforcement works for you who haven't been exposed to it - they prey on the weak - sorry, but that's just how they roll), hoping to get more victims.
2. They want to infuriate the public so much that they create a panic, and can put the pressure onto Congress to pass some other bogus bill, based on NO facts, but scare tactics forced upon the people, in order to get more access to people's personal records and lives, in order 'prevent' future issues.
After all - that's what it's all coming down to, isn't it? Predictive punishments? Didn't I write last time that it's REALLY about the fact we're all guilty, we're all on conditional release, and by operating in this mindset, the authorities can act in 'advance' of crimes by having access to our lives, and SAVE us from OURSELVES by locking us up BEFORE we actually do any wrong.
Just think about it - okay? I'm not asking you to outright believe me because I have NO evidence. I am purely speculating based upon logic and reasoning... and rationalizing based upon my perceptions. That's ALL this is. But... think carefully.. for yourselves. Don't let the news media... who has OPENLY been lying to you and having to repeatedly apologize for it, tell you how to think. Even if it didn't go down remotely how I suggested in this article... something's not right and we're NOT getting the whole story - but in order to convince you otherwise - the news is playing audio feedback from investors who feel cheated and hurt including some calling Madoff a "maggot" who should crawl back under his rock and others saying that jail is worthless because "when the money runs out," how are they going to "feed their families?" These are EMOTIONAL drivers. These are NOT logic drivers. These are NOT facts. These are opinions meant to drive you emotionally. The question is - how will you respond? Will you continue to be lead like lambs to the slaughter as the news media and government have done for years, bringing you to where we are today? Or, will you finally stop following the wolf in sheep's clothing and stay close to the Shepard? God granted you free agency - free will - free choice. Why? To use it. The only thing separating us from our animalistic, primal instincts, is our ability to rationalize and choose. Animals act out of passion, killing, murdering, fighting to survive.
WE are not animals. We are a unique machine, created with a higher intelligence (although it's obvious by the State of the world that we rarely choose to use it), that is designed to distinguish us from all other life on this planet. How do YOU judge life on this planet? By who dominates? Then, I suppose the ANTS are heralded as the masters. By those who have treated it the best? Then certainly NOT humans. By those who have the mose innovation/technology? Then you should be looking to rare and endangered species such as tigers, who have overcome the 'technological' innovations of 'mankind', without our supposed 'higher' intelligence and without the so-called 'advantages' we have intellectually over them, to survive beyond us. But, if you judge life based upon those who have taken their natural born skills, given by GOD at birth.. NOT those empowered by mankind through life.. then perhaps, you SHOULD consider thinking for yourselves.
A change is coming. We all know it. We all feel it. We can ALL sense it. Is it 2012? Is it 2010? I don't know. But, it's coming. And, unlike the crap you hear on television and the internet, it's NOT the end of the world... but as written in the Bible, in Mayan prophecy, Hindu legends and almost EVERY other religion in the WORLD - it's the end of the world AS WE KNOW IT! And, we'll be given a choice on how it ends:
violently or peacefully
Through war and fighting where the stupid kill each other and the smart ones who head for the hills wait for it all to finish... or
Through an increase in our knowledge and love of one another, where we simply choose to think for ourselves.
There's no riding the fence this time, sorry. Gotta pick a side. And, I think the choice is pretty obvious.. or.. at least.. I hope it is. Is Madoff guilty? Maybe. But, there is MUCH more than we are being told.. and that should scare the CRAP out of us. To be lied to and deceived by our news media, by the authorities that we trust......... I wonder if the news and law enfocrcement are LESS or MORE guilty than Madoff? After all... he's guilty of deception, isn't he? But, that was with "money", (and as Timothy wrote: IS the root of all evil; so what else COULD you expect from it?). The news and the authorities are running deceptions with our very lives and trust in them to PROTECT us... and that, to me, is a FAR, far worse crime.
